a perfect saturday Evening- carnIval @ The creek Neptune

A swirl of lights, art and craftwork, concept based projects, colourful displays, enthralling performance and lip-smacking food made the perfect Saturday evening for students of The Creek Planet School –Neptune Campus as it hosted its Carnival on 17th December, 2016.
Both the Pre Primary and the Primary section parents were invited to enjoy the Carnival. The classes of the Pre Primary section were prepared based on three skills namely the Cognitive, Intellectual and Language skills. Various models and charts were put up for the students to correlate the concepts studied in school.
The Primary section classes had projects based on their subjects. Working models, displays made the entire leaning process more meaningful. Students along with their mentors brainstormed for ideas to make their subject more intriguing. Classrooms were filled with information which was passed on from the students to the parents.
The highlight of the evening was the ISA (International School Award) project that the students had worked on. The school integrated the subject knowledge with theatre arts by fusing the dramatization of the Birth of Christ with the ISA project topic of “Celebrating Festivity”. Not only was there a display of the global festival -Christmas, but also the students explained about the local festival of our country Pongal and the local festival of other countries viz USA, Australia – Halloween.  The students spoke about the tradition followed by each country during the celebration of those festivals.
For game lovers, there were options galore – King of the ring, blindfolded obstacle hoop, Table tennis ball catch game, coins in a bucket etc. The adventurous ones enjoyed target Basket ball shooting.
Tiny tots took turns for getting tattoos made, mehendis applied on their palms. An art and crafts zone showcased the creativity of the students. The evening ended with light music playing to the tunes of Jingle bells and welcoming Santa Claus to a Merry Christmas and Happy New year ahead.
