...respect for Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam by The Creek Planet School-Mercury Students

  In Honor of Dr.Abdul Kalam

    "Learning gives creativity
     Creativity leads to thinking
     Thinking provides knowledge
     Knowledge makes you great"

Knowledge = Creativity + Righteousness + Courage  +  Indomitable Spirit

The 7th Grade students had a special session about Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam. They were shown a recorded video of his interview with a reporter. This session made students learn about how Dr.Kalam got the name as 'Missile man of India'.  They also learned about space, missile program and the work of other visionaries in the field of space research in India. They came to know more about Dr. Vikram sarabhai and Prof. Dr. Satish Dhawan.

Students learnt an important life lesson about the importance of failure and how to manage and handle failure. They knew that a leader should be able to manage failure but what they were wondering was "Who is a leader?". They learn about the traits and qualities of a good leader and had their questions answered by the end of the session. Something they learnt was "When failure occurs a leader should humbly own it and acknowledge it. When success comes the leader should again have the humility to give credit to all the people who worked for it."  They also learn about how a leader should experiment and travel an unexplored and untraveled path. At the end of the session the reporter had asked what Dr.Kalam's favorite poem was and he answered.

"Where there is righteousness in the heart
there is beauty in the character.
When there is beauty in the character,
there is harmony in the home.
When there is harmony in the home
there is order in nation.
When there is order in the nation
there is peace in the world."

The Creekians Tribute   to A.P.J Abdul Kalam

On 28th July, the students of Creek had an inspiring session on Dr.A.P.J Abdul Kalam. The session was motivating and fun filled as at the end of every session every student was eager to participate in the questioning round conducted by our Principal Mr.Ravi Kumar.  At the end of the session we were able to analyze the importance of 'Vision 2020' , understand the concept of development of nation , compare the differences between urban and rural also steps to minimize the gap.

We also understood our role as students and that each and every one of has a responsibility towards our country. Later we were assigned to reflect our work and views about the session with our fellow students and also communities.

One of Dr.Abdul Kalam's inspiring quotes which I like is "If you want to shine like a sun, burn like the sun"
